APTF editorial contacts: errors in forex calculations
APTF editorial contacts and how we handle letters. We answer on weekdays, and reports of errors in forex calculations are handled fastest: they have priority, because an error in a formula repeats on every page where the same number appears.
Which enquiries we handle
A discrepancy between the formula on the page and the calculator's result, or an error in the formula itself. Give the inputs and we will reproduce it.
priorityA typo, a wrong wording, an outdated claim. A link to the page and a quotation is enough.
acceptedA question about trader behaviour that we have not covered. A specific question is far more useful than a general topic.
acceptedWe do not sell links, reviews or articles. Such letters go unanswered.
not discussedWhat happens to an error report
We take your inputs and repeat the calculation by the formula from the page. If there is no discrepancy, we reply with an explanation.
1–2 daysAn error may be in the formula, in the implementation or in an assumption. Each case is fixed in its own way.
as it happensThe same number appears in several materials: a correction is applied everywhere, not only where it was spotted.
mandatorySubstantial corrections that change a conclusion are marked in the text of the page.
after the fixHow to describe an error so it is found quickly
An error report is handled the faster the less guessing it requires. The template below takes four lines and closes every question we would otherwise have to ask in reply.
- Page
- The full address, for example /kalkulyator-otygrysha/. Titles of materials repeat in teasers on other pages, so the address is more reliable than the heading.
- What does not add up
- The number on the screen and the number you got. Two numbers are enough, an explanation is optional.
- Your inputs
- The values of all the sliders of the calculation, or a quotation of the disputed sentence if the error is in the text.
- How you calculated
- The formula or a link to a source, if the claim is factual. This speeds up the review more than anything else.
/kalkulyator-prosadki/ · shows 105 trades, I get 122 · drawdown 30 %, risk 1 %, win rate 45 %, 1:2 · I calculated linearly, as back ÷ (expectancy × risk)
It was exactly this kind of message that once led to a fix: the linear formula overstated the number of trades by about a fifth, because percentage risk works multiplicatively. The page now uses a calculation through the average logarithmic gain.
Timelines and what to expect in reply
We are a small editorial team and we answer on weekdays. Below are realistic timelines, so that you do not have to guess.
| Type of enquiry | Reply time | What the reply will contain |
|---|---|---|
| An error in a calculation | 1–3 working days | The result of the reproduction and, if the error is confirmed, the date of the fix |
| An error in the text | up to a week | Confirmation of the fix or an explanation of why the wording was left as it is |
| A topic suggestion | up to two weeks | Whether the question goes into the plan and into which existing material |
| Advertising and placements | no reply | We do not sell links, reviews or articles |
What we can and cannot help with
It is useful to set out the boundaries before you write, so as not to spend time waiting for a reply that will not come.

What we are asked about most often
Some questions repeat so regularly that the answer is already on the site. The links below will save you waiting for a reply.
- «Which broker is better?»
- We do not compare venues and do not recommend them — that is a separate subject with separate requirements for fact-checking. What is worth reading in the agreement before opening an account is listed in the risk disclosure.
- «Look at my statistics, what is wrong?»
- An individual review would be investment advice. But the procedure for reviewing it yourself is described in full: four questions to put to your export, in the material after blowing an account.
- «What risk per trade should I choose?»
- There is no universal number: it depends on your win rate, your ratio and your drawdown threshold. It is calculated in the risk-of-ruin calculator.
- «Where do your figures come from?»
- Each one from a formula given on the same page. All the formulas and assumptions are collected in the methodology.
- «May I republish a material?»
- Write to us and we will discuss it. A full reprint without a link to the source and without the date it was checked harms both sides: the numbers go out of date along with the edits.
- «You have an error in a calculation»
- That is the most useful letter possible, and it is handled first. The message template is in the section above.
Why the form forwards nothing
The form below is built so that no data leaves the site. That is a verifiable claim, and here is how it is verified.
There is neither an action nor a request to a server in the markup. The script assembles the text and calls a mailto link — everything after that happens in your mail program.
visible in the source codeThe name, email and text you enter live only in the open tab. Closing the page erases them without a trace.
verified by reloadingThere is no database, no server code and no feedback form processed on a server. There is technically nothing to receive the data.
how the site is builtIf no mail client is configured the form is useless — in that case simply write to the address above by hand. The content of the letter does not depend on how it is sent.

Frequently asked questions
Will you review my specific trade?
No. Reviewing somebody's position is already personal investment advice, and we do not give it under our editorial policy. The procedure for reviewing it yourself is set out on the site step by step: four questions to put to an export and a one-page record template.
Can I get a consultation on trading psychology?
No. The site does not provide psychological or medical help — this is set out in detail on the risk disclosure page.
What happens to what I type into the form?
Nothing: what you type stays in the tab. The script assembles the text and hands it to the mail program — from there the letter goes from your mailbox, not from the site.
